25 Songs, Day 20

The last song alphabetically in my iPod/iTunes.

Again, I don’t have one, so here’s another random song from the “Everything Is Beautiful” CD.

I’ve never heard another song by them, but I really like this.

25 Songs, Day 19

The first song alphabetically in my iPod/iTunes.

That’s easy, cause I don’t have an iPod OR iTunes, cause fuck Apple. With that said, here’s some random song.

Yesterday I was thinking of posting a random song from a compilation CD a buddy gave me years ago. Now is a good time to do just that. The compilation CD is called “Everything Is Beautiful” and it came out in 1998. I guess it was some promotional thing to push music that had come out that year. Only the first 6 tracks were cool to me, the rest of the CD sucked. And of those six songs, it was hard to pick which ones I’d be posting (tomorrow’s prompt calls for another random song), but after watching videos for them I quickly decided this had to be the first.

I tried listening to a couple other songs by this band but couldn’t get into them. This tune, however, I’ve liked since I first heard it. I just now watched the video for the first time and I gotta say, it’s one of the coolest videos I think I’ve ever seen. This song always makes me happy.

25 Songs, Day 18

A song I love but rarely listen to.

I had to think on this one. I was going to pick a random song off of a compilation CD a friend of mine had given me years ago, until I remembered another song that I’m really fond of yet almost never listen to, so I’m going with that one.

When I first got into illegally downloading music, I used a service called iMesh. I was looking up songs by Stabbing Westward and downloaded one that said it was by them, but then after I downloaded it and really got into it I discovered it wasn’t them, rather, another band.

It turns out, Stabbing Westward has a song named “Save Yourself,” but the one I downloaded was by Sense Field. This is the only tune I’ve ever heard by them, but I dig it. I searched through a few videos on Youtube for this version, the one I have, but apparently there’s another one out there from some movie soundtrack. Eh. This is the one I like.

The idiot who put the lyrics up there, IT’S FUCKING “THAN.” That’ll be all.

25 Songs, Day 17

A song that makes me want to dance.

I don’t dance. I suck at it. I can slow dance, but who can’t? Actually now I have a hard time doing that cause I’m a fatty and my belly gets in the way. So yeah, no dancey for me. But, no song gets me bobbing and weaving like this one. As soon as I saw the prompt I said to myself, “it’s all good.”

25 Songs, Day 16

A song that has made me cry.

Yesterday I played an Offspring song, and I will again today. I’m not even that big of a fan of theirs. Their Americana album was the last thing I really liked by them. After that it’s been all crap, to me anyway.

So with this particular song, I have to play this one, because it reminds me of my cousin who passed away from cancer at 20. And I believe, completely, that she should have been left here and I should have been taken. If I could trade, I would. I was already a fan of this song, but when she passed it took on a whole new meaning, and for the first couple of years after she passed, this song made me cry.
